China opposes sanctions on DPRK

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Qin Gang says China opposes imposing sanctions on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea for test firing missiles two months ago. He has also called for discussions to resume the six-party talks on the DPRK's nuclear issue.

Qin Gang, China Foreign Ministry spokesman said, "China consistently advocates resolving the issue through dialogue. China opposes sanctions. At present, the situation on the Korean peninsula is complicated and sensitive. All relevant parties should look at the big picture - the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and northeast Asia, remain calm, avoid complicating the situation, and resume six-party talks as soon as possible."
