Iraq war is amplifying terror threat

A new report from U.S. intelligence agencies concludes that the war in Iraq is amplifying the terror threat by giving rise to a new wave of extremism.

A US intelligence official announced that the classified assessment represents a consensus view of 16 different intelligence services inside the government. The report says that rather than contributing to an eventual victory, the situation in Iraq has worsened the U.S. position.
