Six-party talks may resume soon

Three weeks after the Democratic People's Republic of Korea conducted its nuclear test, China has announced that the Six-party talks on the DPRK nuclear issue are likely to resume soon.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry says agreement to resume the talks came during an informal meeting between delegation heads from China, the DPRK and the United States in Beijing on Tuesday. The three parties had an "in-depth" exchange of views and agreed that the Six-party talks should be held soon, at a time convenient for all parties. The negotiations have been stalled since the last round in Beijing, almost a year ago.
