US accuses Syria, Iran, Hezbollah

The United States has accused Syria, Iran, and the Hezbollah group in Lebanon of trying to topple the Lebanese government. It's also warned them to keep their hands off.

A White House statement said US policy in the Middle East involved supporting a sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Lebanon saying the country is a good example of an emerging Middle Eastern democracy. The statement said any attempt to destabilize the Lebanese government was a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions. The White House has so far declined to give evidence for its accusations, claiming the information is classified.
