Here are more details about the declaration read out jointly by Chinese President Hu Jintao, Ethiopian Prime Minister Ato Meles Zenawi and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

The first part of the declaration read out by President Hu Jintao says China and Africa advocate friendly cooperation on the basis of the five principles of peaceful co-existence and other international norms advocating democratization of international relations.

The two sides agree that South-South Cooperation shall be strengthened to boost a balanced and sustainable development of the global economy in order to ensure all the countries share the benefits of common development and prosperity.

The declaration advocates the strengthening of the role of the United Nations through reforms, so as to effectively solve development issues, and enhance the representation of the African countries in the world community.

In the declaration, President Hu Jintao also reaffirms China's support for African countries efforts to solve problems on their own, as well as to boost regional economic integration.
