Special Report: President Hu visits RussiaChinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met visiting Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. It was the 11th regular meeting between the two prime ministers and the two are promising to promote bilateral commercial ties.
During the meeting, Chinese Premier Wen Jiaobao said the two countries have made progress in bilateral ties and strengthened political trust. He said the two sides' results-oriented cooperation and mutual investment have witnessed rapid growth.
In response, Fradkov said Russia will continue to take active measures to promote relations with China to a higher level.
Wen Jiabao and Fradkov said they were committed to facilitating commercial ties between the two countries, and several measures will be taken to achieve this goal.
Both of them are committed to facilitating bilateral cooperation in oil, gas and nuclear energy.
The two prime ministers pledged to improve trade structures, and actively implement an action plan for a mechanical and electrical products trade agreement, which will be signed soon.
The two sides agreed to take a friendly and responsible attitude to solving problems on utilization and protection of cross-border water resources.
They are determined to encourage and promote mutual investment and cooperation in manufacturing, education, public heath and sports.
After the talks, the two leaders attended a signing ceremony for a series of cooperative documents, covering the promotion of mutual investment and financial aid, as well as trade and cooperation in oil and nuclear energy.
Earlier on Thursday, China and Russia also signed 8 agreements, covering iron mining, glass, timber processing and other sectors.
