Residents in Tehran have given mixed reactions to comments made by British Prime Minister Tony Blair. He suggested that Iran and Syria's aid should be solicited to help stem the violence in Iraq.

British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said the West should negotiate with Iran to help stem the bloodshed in neighboring Iraq and to build stability across the Middle East. However some residents have reacted to the comments with scorn.

Tehran president said, “Britain blindly follows America. Tony Blair's remarks are aimed at covering up the numerous problems they are facing in Iraq now.”
