Hamas in defiance of Israel

In Gaza, the ruling Hamas says the future Palestinian national unity government will not recognize the legitimacy of Israel. The remark came on Tuesday following an Israeli raid in the West Bank. A Palestinian militant was killed during the clash.

Violence continues to flare in the West Bank and Gaza. The latest clash took place on Tuesday night in a refugee camp in the West Bank city of Nablus. Palestinian officials say the dead militant was a member of the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

lsewhere in Gaza, Palestinian medics and witnesses say two civilians were wounded in an Israeli air strike that targeted a metal workshop. In the face of these renewed attacks in the Palestinian territory, Hamas seems to be running out of patience.
