Palestinians welcome European proposal

The Palestinian National Authority has welcomed that initiative from Spain, France and Italy that calls for an international peace conference to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A PNA spokesman says its appreciates any international efforts to revive the stalled peace process, and push forward the roadmap plan for peace. There has been no immediate comment from Israel. The roadmap plan was initiated in 2003 by the International Quartet,consisting of the US, Russia, the EU and the UN.
