The American and Chinese navies have begun their second joint search-and-rescue exercise in two months. The latest drill started this morning in the South China sea.
China-US Naval Coordination
Analysts say for humanitarian operations like search-and-rescue at sea, the deciding element is not how much state-of-the-art facilities will be mobilized... Seamless coordination by all parties involved is the key to success. To make the most of the exercise, the Chinese and US naval forces are expected to work together closely in communications, sharing equipment, formulating tactics, and many other areas.
Breakthrough China-US Military Exchange
China-US military exchanges entered into a new era in September, this year, when armed forces of the two countries carried out their first-ever joint search-and-rescue exercise in the US port of San Diego. Analysts say such cooperation is upgrading China-US military ties to a new level.
