Iraqi President calls for unity

President Jalal Talabani emerged from an all-party security conference on Friday night, calling for unity among the country's political and religious leaders.

Jalal Talabani said: "We think that the problem is a political and a security problem, and it will not be solved by arguing. It will only be solved by political accordance so we need agreement on the effective political blocs in Iraq and a united stance against bigotry, terrorists and militias."
