Wen Jiabao meets WHO next head, Margaret Chan

In Beijing, Premier Wen Jiabao has met Margaret Chan, the next head of the World Health Organization.

Wen said the Chinese government attaches great importance to public health with improvement in health one of its key tasks. China has set up a nationwide disease control and emergency medical system. Wen said China will keep in close contact with the WHO as it contributes to world health.

Meanwhile, Margaret Chan said she'll strengthen communication with member countries.
