US force lose ground in Iraq

A report in Tuesday's Washington Post says U.S. and Iraqi troops are no longer capable of defeating the insurgency in western Iraq.

Nor can they squash al-Qaeda's rising popularity as the social and political situations continue to deteriorate. This, according to a newly disclosed Marine Corps intelligence report on conditions in Iraq's Anbar province, which is the most restive in the country.
