Violence continued across Iraq yesterday. Both coalition operations and insurgent attacks have contributed to the death toll in this war-torn country.

In the western Baghdad town of Karmah, US and Iraqi forces killed six insurgents during a raid, and destroyed two buildings that militants were using. A weapons cache and the bodies of two women and a boy were found as they searched through one of the buildings.
