President Hu Jintao meets former US President George Bush

Chinese President Hu Jintao has met with former US President George Bush in the Great Hall of the People here in Beijing.

Hu Jintao praised Bush for his contributions to China-US relations, and noted the close communication among their leaders and other active dialogues. Hu Jintao said China and the US have common interest in maintaining regional and international peace and stability, as well as in promoting the domestic and world economies. He called for consolidating achievements and resolving differences and concerns based on long-term planning. Bush said he's glad that US-Chinese relations are now at their best time as shown by cooperation in various fields.
