8 people in Egypt die of bird flu

A thirty-year-old woman has died of bird flu in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

She had been hospitalized for just over a week, and tested positive for the H-5-N-1 strain of avian flu, hours before dying on Sunday. Egypt reported its first human case of bird flu earlier in March this year. Since then, the total number of humans infected has risen to 18 of which eight have perished from the deadly virus.
