The bomb was left in a parking lot on the main street of the New Baghdad district and triggered by remote control. At least 11 cars were wrecked by the explosion. Iraqi insurgents often target Shi'ite strongholds in central Iraq with bombings to undermine a Shi'ite -led government of national unity.
