Brick-factory worker Rida Farid Abdel Halim died after being in hospital for 10 days. A 15-year-old girl and an older woman died from the deadly disease earlier this week. All were relatedraising concerns about the possibility of human-to-human transmission. The family had raised ducks at home, and two members of the family had slaughtered the flock after ducks fell sick and died. The factory worker's death brings to ten, Egypt's death toll from the H-5-N-1 virus.
The virus was first reported in the country ten months ago, and has meant extensive damage for the country's poultry industry. But, so far, preventive measures appear to have contained the disease.
