Special Report: Iraq in TransitionEarlier, we talked to Peter Herford, former vice president of the News department at Columbia Broadcasting System. He commented on why legal procedures concerning Saddam's death were carried out so quickly.
Bush's administration is filing its new policy on Iraq. And in Mr. Herford's opinion, Saddam's death is unlikely to have impact, neither on the so-called new policy, nor on Bush's popularity.
Saddam was once described as a threat to US security. But Mr. Herford explains that's no longer the case. Saddam's death won't make the Americans feel safer.
