AFP photographer kidnapped in Gaza

A photographer from a French news agency has been kidnapped in Gaza City.

Agence France Presse has confirmed that Jaime Razuri was seized just before nightfall on Monday.

A Palestinian translator working for the agency says he was with the 50-year-old when he was taken at gunpoint, after returning from an assignment in Gaza. The kidnapping happened in an area in central Gaza City, where many foreign news agencies have offices. Razuri was standing at an intersection when masked men pushed him in a car and sped away.

No one has yet claimed responsibility. The incident is the latest in a string of kidnappings of foreigners in Gaza in recent months.
