Special Report: Iraq in TransitionIn Iraq, up to 5,000 people in Kut province in the country's east, protested outside a US military base to demand the release of two provincial council members who were detained last week by US troops.
The demonstrators marched to the Delta military base, claiming US forces detained Abu El-Taybe Al-Zarqari and Qassim al-Araji last Tuesday for unknown reasons.
US officials haven't commented on the arrests. According to a Red Cross report in 2004, it's estimated that 70 to 90 percent of Iraqi detainees were arrested by mistake.
