Iraq confirms 380 militants killed by US-Iraqi security forces

Iraqi officials have confirmed that more than 300 militants from an obscure Shi'ite cult were killed in fierce fighting near the holy Shi'ite city of Najaf.

The battle on Sunday is reportedly one of the largest, since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. Iraqi security forces also managed to arrest 650 people.
