Fierce battle has broken out across the Gaza Strip, between rival factions Hamas and Fatah. At least four people have been killed and more than 30 wounded.
Yet, another day of violence in spite of a cease-fire agreement between the rival factions.
The wave of clashes broke out in central Gaza on Thursday afternoon. Hamas militants ambushed a convoy, claiming it was delivering weapons to Fatah-allied security forces.
The two sides exchanged heavy fire. Four people, including 2 civilians were killed and thirty others were wounded.
Fatah retaliated saying the convoy was in fact carrying tents, medical kits and toilets and has accused Hamas of plunging the recent ceasefire into grave danger.
Meanwhile, Hamas militants fired mortar shells in Gaza City, near the home of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Street battles sent residents fleeing.
Hamas forces have also raided a Fatah military intelligence post in northern Gaza, wounding 7 security guards and abducting a member of the Fatah group.
