Special Report: Iraq in TransitionWASHINGTON, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush said Wednesday that he is confident that Iran is providing deadly bombs to Iraqi insurgents but admitted he is unsure if top Iranian leaders played any role in doing so.
"What we do know is that the Quds Force was instrumental in providing these deadly IEDs to networks inside of Iraq. We know that. And we also know that the Quds Force is a part of the Iranian government. That's a known," Bush said.
"What we don't know is whether or not the head leaders of Iran ordered the Quds Force to do what they did," Bush said.
The Bush administration has accused Iran of providing support to the Iraqi insurgents to fight against the U.S.-led multinational troops in the country.
