Gaza: One Hamas gunman killed in factional fighting

Factional violence has erupted in the northern Gaza Strip, killing one Hamas gunman. It's the first fatality in clashes since the Islamist movement agreed with its Fatah rivals to form a unity government.

The violence broke out just hours after Hamas prime minister, Ismael Haneya, said a unity government would be announced in the next few days. The coalition agreement reached in Mecca on February 8th had halted weeks of bloody factional fights.

Palestinian Minister Sayeed Seyam said unidentified people were attempting to create chaos ahead of the formation of a unity government.
