Hu Jintao to visit Russia next week

Chinese President Hu Jintao received a joint interview by major Russian media outlets on Tuesday prior to his upcoming Russia visit.

At the interview with Interfax, the ITAR-TASS and The Voice of Russia, Hu Jintao answered multiple questions about the Sino-Russia relationship, the "Year of China" and the "Year of Russia" in the two countries and the 2008 Beijing Olympics Games, as well as economic, trade and press exchanges between the two countries.

He also mentioned the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and building a socialist harmonious society in China.

Chinese President Hu Jintao will pay a two-day visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During the visit that will kick off next Monday, Hu is to attend the opening ceremony of "Year of China" in Russia.
