Israel holds civil defense drill

Israeli security and emergency personnel have carried out an array of simulated attacks and rocket launches.

Throughout the course of the two-day drill, police, soldiers and rescue crews responded to simulated assaults in seven different locations, including a simulated chemical attack on a school and a rocket strike on a power station in Tel Aviv.

The manoeuvers come after Israel's highly-criticized war on Lebanon last year. The Israeli force has been under fire for failing to stop Hezbollah's daily barrage of rockets into northern Israel and for failing to defeat the guerilla group in fierce ground fighting in south Lebanon.
