Russia is disputing a report that it gave Iran an ultimatum to halt its uranium enrichment, saying nuclear cooperation between the two counties will continue.
On Tuesday, Russian ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, denied the New York Times story. The report claimed Moscow told Tehran that Russia would withhold fuel for a light water reactor being built in Bushehr, unless Iran suspended its uranium enrichment.
He added that the Bushehr project in southern Iran is an economic project outside the scope of UN Resolution 17-37.
