Iran starts military exercises in Persian Gulf

The Iranian navy has kicked off seven days of war games in the Persian Gulf. The exercises are to test newly designed equipment.

Warships, small vessels with missile launchers and tactical submarines are involved in a series of military maneuvers staged by Iran.

The United States has deployed a second aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf, a move widely seen as a warning to Tehran over its nuclear ambitions.
