China, Japan to start 7th round of E. China Sea talks

The Chinese Foreign Ministry says China and Japan are ready to start a fresh round of talks in Tokyo on the East China Sea issue.
Top negotiators at Thursday's talks will be the Director of China's Foreign Ministry Department of Asian Affairs, Hu Zhengyue, and the Head of Japan's Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Kenichiro Sasae. They're hoping to resolve long-standing disagreements over border demarcations.
Foreign Ministry spokesman, Qin Gang, says China wants to put aside the dispute and focus instead on joint development with related issues being solved through negotiation.
