China plans to finish the establishment of a satellite-supported space information system over the next three years.
The country's biggest satellite maker, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, says that altogether, 60 to 70 satellites will serve the system.
They will provide information for things such as radio communication, weather forecasting and scientific experiments.
Next year, a constellation of three small satellites will be launched for environmental and disaster monitoring.
