FM: China urges effective US efforts to ease trade tensions

China is urging the United States to cooperate in a joint effort to resolve economic issues to ensure steady and smooth development of relations between the two countries.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiang Yu told a press conference that Beijing hopes the US will make effective efforts to ease recent trade tension with China.

Jiang Yu said, "We hope that the US will make use of the comparative advantages it has in China-US trade by increasing mutual trust, loosening export control and changing the annual decrease in market shares of American Hi-tech products in China, so as to ease the US trade deficit against China.
