Cyclone Gonu kills three in Iran

Three people have been killed in a storm that battered the southern coast of Iran on Thursday.

Cyclone Gonu caused widespread damage in Oman's seaside capital before making its way across the Gulf of Oman to the Iranian coast. It was later downgraded to a tropical storm.

Cyclone Gonu did not destroy oil installations in the region, but brought down billboards and uprooted trees in the southern port city of Bandar-Abbas.
