"Preparations for Beijing 2008 Paralympics" Part(2)

There's just one year to go until the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games and accessibility for disabled people has become a top concern.

About 4,000 athletes from 150 countries will come to Beijing in 2008 for the Paralympics. 20 sporting events will be competed over twelve days and Beijing will host 18 events.

BOCOG Executive Vice-president Tang Xiaoquan said, "We'll have the same standard of the preparation for both the Beijing Olympics and the Paralympics. The accessibility of the competition venue will become the top concern in our preparation. We will make efforts to ensure the standard meet both the International and domestic level."
