China celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival

Special Report: Mid-Autumn Festival GalaMid-Autumn Festival kicks off today in China. People across the country are preparing to celebrate in many different ways.
In Fuzhou, east China, the Mid-Autumn Festival means building towers of tiles. People do this so their lives and fortunes will grow just as high.
Overseas Chinese and those living in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are heading to their hometown, Fujian, to spend the festival with their families. The local airport witnessed a 40 percent surge of passengers.
In south China's Guangzhou, over 100 residents visited an orphanage to be volunteer fathers and mothers of the children. Some couples brought their own children to join in.
"I feel happy that so many uncles and aunts came to play with us. And I have mooncakes as well." said a child.
In Chongqing, in southwest China, the festival brought neighbors from over 30 families together. They say singing and dancing brings them closer.
