Israel, Palestine working on joint document for summit

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says Palestinian and Israeli teams are working on a document to tackle final status issues before a summit called by US President George W. Bush next month.

Abbas made the comments during a press conference in Ramallah with visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan. Abbas has also announced that he will visit Turkey before heading to the US for November's summit.

Babacan said Turkey supports ending the Israeli occupation, and establishing a sovereign independent Palestinian state.
