Special Report: 17th CPC National CongressForeign journalists say it's been more convenient to report the 17th CPC National Congress. The news center for the congress is considered to be the best of its kind so far.
More than seven hundred foreign journalists have been in Beijing all week to report on the Congress.
Most have been working in the well-equipped news center, next to the CCTV headquarters.
Foreign journalists can easily find plenty of information in different languages here. They can also access the audio and video materials produced by the local media.
Although the number of foreign journalists is double that of the last Party Congress, they told me that reporting this year is more convenient.
For the first time, the news center to the Party Congress is providing free audio and video material. Transmitting facilities are also available so that foreign journalists can immediately send pictures.
Xinhua News Agency is providing free photos. Journalists have access to all the information they need without leaving the center.
Gennady Krivosheev from Interfax News Agency has been working in China for years. He has reported on numerous significant political events, and the old hand doesn't hold back with praise.
Officials say the News Center itself has made the news during the Congress.
Zhu Shouchen, Executive Secretary of All China Journalists Associate said "Everyday, we have journalists from different countries busily working. We're trying to make our service more convenient, so that they can work happily. We are happy when they are happy."
Zhu also says foreign and local journalists are treated equally when it comes to accessing the latest information from the Congress.
