Grassroots delegates: "Excellent representatives" of millions of CPC Party members

Five Party members from the country's basic administration and business sector have given a joint press conference at the News Center.

These five delegates are considered "excellent representatives" of millions of Party members.

Women are quite rare in the criminal police force. But Chen Guangming is the head of criminal police in Chongqing city. She says she is always focussed on her responsibilities.

Cheng Guangming, Head of Criminal Police, Chongqing,said, "Whatever conditions you have in your work, it is always the most important thing to accomplish your task. That's what I take to heart over the last thirty years."

Jia Dongliang, a retired army officer, left the comforts of the city to set up his own farm in his old hometown in the countryside of Guangdong.

Jia Dongliang said, "I am a party member. I don't want to wait for help. I am able to create a better future for my fellow citizens and myself. I am very proud that my farm has been a good example of getting rich in my hometown."

The delegates under the spotlight today will go back to being ordinary people when they return to their normal positions after the Congress. But something that differs them from others is their title of "Party member". It is one of the major reasons they are considered to be "model workers" playing leading roles in the building of a harmonious society.
