Full CPC constitution text released

The full text of the revised constitution of the Communist Party of China has been released. The revision was approved at the closing meeting of the 17th Party Congress.

The amended Constitution says the CPC is the vanguard of both the Chinese working class and the Chinese people. It is the core of leadership for socialism with Chinese characteristics and represents the development trend of China's advanced productive forces. The Communist Party of China takes Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of Three Represents as its guide to action.

And the scientific outook on development is added to the constitution, which put people first - and calls for comprehensive, balanced and sustainable development. The newly revised Constitution also says the CPC leads the people in developing a socialist market economy, promoting socialist democracy, developing an advanced socialist culture, and building a harmonious socialist society.

In building itself, the Party must be determined to meet the following four essential requirements. First, it must adhere to the Party's basic line. Second, it must persevere in emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, and keeping up with the times. Third, the party must persevere in serving the people wholeheartedly. And fourth, it must uphold democratic centralism.
