Harry Potter mania hit Beijing on Sunday as fans queued for hours to make sure they were the first to lay their hands on the Chinese version of the seventh and final instalment of the boy-wizard's saga.
Eager fans were outside this bookstore in downtown Wangfujing at the crack of dawn. Hundreds dashed to the tills once the doors had opened, desperate to find out what will happen to their hero in the final episode "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Some couldn't even wait to get home before cracking open their copies for a quick peek.
Around 1 million copies of the hard-back book went on sale in the capital with more than 2,000 customers in this store alone, reserving copies of the book ahead of time.
