US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates arrived in Beijing on Sunday kicking off his first official visit to China.

During his three-days here, Gates will meet for talks with Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan. He'll also see top Chinese leaders and Foreign Ministry officials.

The two sides will exchange views on the current international and regional security situation, bilateral relations, military ties and other issues of common concern.
