Chinese premier holds talk with leaders of S. Korea, Japan

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has met with South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun on the sidelines of a series of ASEAN meetings in Singapore.

Wen wants to see the two countries expand the bilateral free trade zone. Roh thanked China for its efforts on the six-party talks. Wen also held talks with Japanese prime minister Yasuo Fukuda, the first since Fukuda took office in September.

The discussions were expected to center on environmental protection, culture, and youth exchanges.
