China, India to hold 1st joint military drill

Special Report: Indian PM Visits ChinaChina and India will hold their first joint military exercise next month in the southwestern province of Yunnan.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao says 100 soldiers from each side will take part. He says the war games do not involve preparing for conflict against any third country.
China and India fought border skirmishes in the early 1960s. Since then they have held a dozen rounds of negotiations on the boundary issue. The Foreign Ministry says the drill will boost trust and cooperation.
