Sarkozy hopes to further promote China-EU ties

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has arrived in Xi'an, Capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province. His state visit to China is at the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao. This is his first trip to the country as French President.

Sarkozy called on China and France to further strengthen ties. He is expected to meet with President Hu and other senior officials during the three-day visit.
