Chinese President Hu Jintao and his US counterpart George W.Bush have held a telephone conversation.
Hu Jintao says the third China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue and the fifth China-US Strategic Dialogue will be held soon in Beijing.
He says China would like to make joint efforts with the US in reaching greater consensus through the dialogues.
He also says the appropriate handling of the Taiwan issue is key for bilateral ties. Bush says the two dialogues are successful platforms for bilateral cooperation. He also pledges the US will keep cooperating with China on the Taiwan issue.
