19-year Bilawal Zardari is a law student at Oxford University. His father, Bhutto's husband Asif Ali Zardari, will be co-chairman.
Top officials from Bhutto's PPP party met in Naudero on Sunday. After the meeting, Bilawal and his farther announced that the PPP will take part in January's elections, as Benazir would have wanted.
Earlier, a spokesman for the ruling party said elections were likely to be postponed by up to four months.
Elsewhere, Nawaz Sharif, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz party, said he will reconsider the early decision to boycott the election if the PPP decides to take part.
