Newly elected President Mwai Kibaki said political parties should meet immediately. He's been calling for calm after four days of rioting.

In Eldoret, about 300 kilometers from the capital of Nairobi, a mob torched a church sheltering hundreds of Kenyans fleeing the violence.

At least 50 people died, many of them children. This, together with other violence across the country, has bought the official death toll to well over two-hundred.
