Heavy snow covers Europe

Two days of heavy snowfall has blanketed Serbia's capital, Belgrade.Traffic in the city is continuing to function,despite 30 centimeters of snow.

City workers armed with industrial salt, shovels and snow ploughs began clearing it away. Across the border in Romania, rescue workers have been helping motorists who were stranded in the storm.

Soria, a city in north-eastern Spain, has also suffered heavy snowfall. Cars and pedestrians have been struggling across snow covered roads, some using umbrellas to protect themselves.
