Olmert: Israel to work with the U.S. to surpress the nuclear threat from Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says US President George W. Bush's upcoming visit to the Middle East is part of a joint US-Israeli statement against Iranian nuclear threats.

Olmert made the remarks at a meeting between Israeli and Palestinian negotiation teams in Jerusalem ahead of Bush's visit.

Ehud Olmert, Israeli Prime Minister, said, "This visit is undoubtedly a political statement that bears a special significance -in the context of our immediate arena also in the broader regional arena, with regards to issues related to the international effort that we and the United States continue to pursue together in order to stop Iran becoming a power with non-conventional weapons capacity."
