McCain wins New Hampshire Republican primary

BEDFORD, United States, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Senator John McCain beat former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire Republican primary Tuesday night, CNN projected.

On the Democratic side, Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama are still in tight fight. Primary results showed that Clinton led 40 percent to 35 percent for Obama after votes counted from 13 percent of the state's precincts.
